About

A children and parent event centered around reading and helping our global village from a human-to-human perspective! ABOUT THE EVENTThrough reading books to fresh eyes, this Story Time event focuses on nurturing the innate liberatory beings that we are all born as: Little Radicals. Each month, we will focus on a theme and curate a collection of books, activities, and discussions for children and their parents to further their education and awareness of the world around them. June is all about Pride, commemorating the Stonewall Riots, Cribbean American Heritage, Immigrant Heritage, and Juneteenth! ABOUT THE BOOKS'Juneteenth' by Van G. Garrett, illustrated by Reginald C Adams and Samson Bimbo AdenugbaA lyrical picture book about our newest national holiday, Juneteenth follows the annual celebration in Galveston, Texas—the birthplace of Juneteenth—through the eyes of a child coming to understand their place in Black American history in a story from three Texan creators.
