Through educational programs, historic interpretation and seasonal experiences, the Farm helps visitors understand agriculture, food systems and farm life, both past and present. From crops and gardens to livestock and dairy demonstrations, everything at Historic Wagner Farm supports learning, stewardship and responsible farm practices. Historic Wagner Farm celebrated the grand opening of its new Centennial Farm Exhibit on February 13, 2026, welcoming more than 50 community members to explore the new space. The exhibit highlights how farming has shaped Glenview’s past and how today’s choices continue to influence agriculture’s future. Guests can test out interactive features and experience firsthand the thoughtful planning and hard work that brought this project to life! The exhibit showcases a century of agricultural change through original artifacts, historic tractors and displays on the Wagner family and Glenview’s early German settlers. Interactive features like sorting eggs, exploring livestock feed storage, climbing a silo, visiting a hay loft and seeing a corn sheller in action offer hands-on learning for all ages. For more than two decades, Historic Wagner Farm has operated as both a working farm and educational resource, preserving early 20th-century farming practices while connecting visitors to modern agriculture. Historic Wagner Farm sits on 18.6 acres of land and is one of the few remaining farms in north suburban Cook County.
