Bay Area Rowing Club of Houston (BARC) is dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in the Houston/Clear Lake area. BARC is a non-profit rowing club and is located on Mud Lake in Clear Lake Park, Houston, TX. BARC offers sculling classes, for those new to rowing. Established in 1988, the Bay Area Rowing Club of Houston, BARC, is dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in the Houston/Clear Lake area. Since its inception, BARC has grown from a small cadre of dedicated rowers to an organized, non-profit club with over 40 members, a fleet of rowing shells composed of singles, doubles, quads, fours, and eights, and a boathouse located on Mud Lake in Clear Lake Park. BARC offers offers two types of first time rowing classes. These include our two-hour, single session 'Try It, You'll Like it' class for those new to rowing, as well as our four session rowing course class, for those who wish to become club members.
