The Art School for Children and Young Adults at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) is a vibrant and creative hub for young artists from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Art school is the university's longest running community outreach program on campus. Our dedicated team of experienced and certified teachers, UHCL Students, and our esteemed Director, is committed to nurturing the artistic talents of children and teenagers. The Children's Art School collaborates with university students from the University of Houston-Clear Lake to create a dynamic partnership. This enriches the learning experience, allowing our young artists to benefit from fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to art education. At the UHCL Children's Art School, we believe that art is a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. Through a diverse range of classes and workshops, we aim to ignite a lifelong passion for creativity and artistic exploration in each and every student. Whether they aspire to be professional artists or simply want to express themselves through art, our school provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where young imaginations can flourish. The Summer 2026 schedule is now open for registration with a ton of opportunities for your students to create with us. Classes are held throughout the week at varied days and we have a variety of times and class options available to best fit your schedule. In most cases, classes are held once a week for a total of 8 weeks. During the summer they are 4 day classes in a one week setting.
