Join us at Ruff Start Rescue for a Rangers & Volunteer Event on July 16th, 2026! Ruff Start Rangers, a program within the Education Department, aims to educate youth through service and activities in hopes the future of animal welfare sees fewer homeless pets and more responsible pet owners. All themes in this series come from this program. Environmental Enrichment is an educational program all about creating fun, safe, and engaging spaces for pets to thrive! Just like you enjoy your favorite play areas, pets need interesting environments where they can explore, move around, rest, and play. Whether they live indoors or outdoors, pets feel their best when their environment allows them to act on natural behaviors like sniffing, digging, climbing, hiding, chewing, and more. Participants will learn how enrichment can be achieved through thoughtful planning, creative activities, and simple changes to a pet’s home environment to help support both physical and mental wellbeing. The event will start at 5:30 pm and is estimated to last ~90 minutes; we will do a brief presentation about the topic then do a fun themed activity together! When signing up, please include parents and kids in the total admission number so we have an idea of how many will be in attendance.
