The group will include the following opportunities: intensive life skills, communication, emotional regulation and support skills. The children will be provided opportunities to dramatically improve life and coping skills to prevent and heal from the stress of having parents who work as First Responders. Our complimentary groups will help children establish a base level to understand triggers and the effect of trauma and work-related stress so that the children can better understand the stress their First Responder parent endures day in and day out. These weeklong groups, rooted in equine-assisted group life skill programming, will address the stressors emanating from their parents’ non-traditional lifestyle, non-traditional schedules and chosen occupation.
