Build your very own bug house in our park in Staten Island! Practice your building skills and construct your very own bug house! Then spend the afternoon learning about and looking for local insects in our Staten Island Maker Park! This event is family-friendly! All kiddos are welcome, and must be accompanied by an adult. ALLERGY NOTICE: There are active beehives in Maker Park. They are up on the hill and we will be far away from them, but we may see honeybees polinating the flowers in the park. We will NOT be catching honeybees in our bug houses. 1 ticket = 1 bug house so feel free to bring the family and collaborate! Limit 2 tickets per family. SESSION AND PRICING: Saturday, June 13th 11a - 2p $20 per ticket - 1 ticket = 1 bug house. Limit 2 tickets per family. INSTRUCTOR BIO Connor & Simon are Brooklyn based woodworkers from the great state North Carolina. Though they didn't meet until joining MakerSpace in 2024, they both grew up hiking, fishing, and enjoying the wildlife of their home state. Simon grew up in the Raleigh/Durham region of North Carolina and Connor, the Western mountain region. Since meeting at MakerSpace, they have built furniture and friendship together over the last few years and share a passion for nature and the age-old craft of woodworking. REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS: Class limited to 15 tickets - minimim 5. We reserve the right to cancel this event if we do not have the minimum amount of participants. If we cancel, we will refund you and notify you. You may cancel and get a refund up to seven days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day. Please note, Eventbrite fees are non-refundable if you cancel.
