About

Monthly outdoor nature-based craft workshops, for children age 7 and up. Join us at the Fibershed Learning Center for a nature-based crafting workshop series, led by nature-based educator Èské Addams and designed especially for young learners, age 7 and up. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn various nature-based crafting skills and to engage directly with different types of organic materials and hand tools. Each month at Wildcrafternoons, we'll gather in the Fibershed's outdoor classroom to explore hands-on projects which encourage connection with natural materials. Through these activities, kids will engage with natural surroundings, various crafting projects, and our imaginations. ♿ Wildcrafternoon workshops will be hosted primarily in the outdoor classroom which is not currently ADA accessible (uneven woodchip paths and a narrow bridge over a creek). However, we can easily relocate to the main Fibershed building event area, if any student or their caregiver requires the workshop to be held in an ADA accesible location. ✨ Students must be at least 7 years of age. Although the creativity and energy of younger children are such a joy to experience, most Wildcrafternoon Workshops will be a bit too advanced for such little hands, requiring a certain minimum level of skills and abilities. Èské Addams is, among many other things, a nature-based educator who specializes in working with children of all ages through hands-on craft and ancestral skills. With an intentional teaching style and a strong focus on accessibility and equity, Èské creates skill-building opportunities where learners of all ages and abilities can connect more easily with natural materials, traditional techniques, and their own creativity. As a certified CA Naturalist, an early childhood educarer, and a person of Indigenous descent, Èské is passionate about introducing young learners to the wonders and wisdom of nature, helping experienced learners re/connect with nature, and creating opportunities for engaging with nyriad nature-based skills.
