Founded in 1951, SIJCC fosters a progressive, inclusive environment where Jewish culture and community thrive. From our Early Childhood Education preschool program to community-wide events like Days of Awesome, we offer opportunities for all ages to explore, grow, and connect. SIJCC’s Early Childhood Program is open to all members of the community regardless of cultural or religious affiliations. Through song, dance, celebration, and exploration of holidays, children become attuned to the changing of the seasons and to their own growth and development in ways that are deeply relevant to their daily lives. School age children are invited to explore their jewish identity and become fluent in jewish rituals and history. As children approach early teenagehood, our B Mitzvah Program offers a creative and personalized approach to this important life cycle event. And after "coming of age," teens join our dynamic program that creates a peer support network through which they can explore the big ideas of life in community. Belonging to a community isn't just for kids - it's for everyone. Our adult programming offers a variety of activities to encourage in person connections to support all phases of adult life. Young adults (20's/30's) are known as East Side Jews (ESJ). With an emphasis on social justice, ESJ speaks to the needs of early adulthood. And for adults over 40, we are growing our programming to make room for interpersonal relationships among new and old friends.
