Our mission: Empowering youth, family, and community to reach their God Given Potential. Using a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach to help Sun Valley’s youth reach their greatest potential. Our work is built on three key pillars: Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting. Each activity helps them form lasting relationships, create meaningful memories, and prepare for adulthood. We play hard together with purpose, growing and learning through every experience. When young people feel secure, they can focus and learn better. When taught how their brains work, they learn what they can control, reducing anxiety and boosting confidence. By building emotional awareness and communication skills, kids will have the tools to express their feelings and advocate for themselves. When they struggle, support is right there, helping them find their way back to balance. Parents receive educational support, ensuring they have the tools they need to guide their families with strength and love. We are committed to making a difference. Our youth and their families have a lot to say about the impact we’ve had. The SVYC cheers me up when I am sad and encourages me to do good things. My favorite thing about SVYC is that there are people that look like me. I also love the field trips. My words to describe SVYC are: explore, wonderful, encouraging place. I love everyone here. Whether it’s donating food or providing free tickets to a special event, SVYC always finds ways to help. The SVYC is a positive experience for kids from low income environments. What I like about the youth center is they’re so caring. They help you with everything! You can play with them. If you are having a hard time, if you tell them your needs, they will help you.
