A 4-session program for families with children ages 6+ that explores the connection between nature, health, and family well-being. Nurturing Nature Connection An experiential program for families, connecting nature exploration with physical, mental and family health. Come learn, explore, and share how being in nature can nurture your body and mind, while supporting family connections. This program is for children 6 years of age and older and their families or caregivers. (Parents, guardians, grandparents, and extended family are encouraged to attend!) The purpose of this program is to empower caregivers to facilitate outdoor learning and exploration with children in their lives. Participating adults will gain skills to guide kids in their outdoor learning using scientific inquiry, managing risk, modeling exploration, and sharing their own childhood memories in nature. No experience in outdoor teaching is required. We welcome all levels of knowledge, experience, and all comfort levels in nature to join us! We’re here to help build your confidence and your toolkits. Each family will make and use a nature journal to write, draw, and record observations about nature and themselves. Most of all, this will be a series of 4 sessions to have fun and learn together! We ask each registered family to attend all of the 4 sessions. At each session, you will receive one or more science tools to keep and use to explore nature on your own! Participating families will be asked to help us improve the program by completing voluntary and confidential pre and post surveys. **Note: There are multiple locations for this event.
