FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “We Are One”: Dreamcatchers for the Soul Brings a Powerful Day of Healing, Culture, and Connection to Miami Dreamcatchers for the Soul Foundation, Inc. invites children, teens, and families to experience something truly special at our 13th Annual Children of the Lotus Retreat, taking place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Miami Dade College North Campus, Building 2 (11380 NW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33167). Root Chakra – Community Grounded “We Are One.” This is more than an event. This is a space where children are seen, families are supported, and our community comes together in love. What Families Will Experience: Children, teens, and families will move through a vibrant day of connection, creativity, and healing—designed to meet each person exactly where they are. Creative expression through art, poetry, and storytelling – where voices are heard and stories are honored. Real-life tools for emotional wellness and conflict resolution – helping youth and families navigate life with confidence. Opportunities for teens to express, connect, and be seen – a space to show up authentically and build meaningful connections. Hands-on gardening experiences for younger children – grounding and nurturing connection to the earth. Designed With Intention: Sessions will be offered in age-specific breakout groups: Ages 5–8, Ages 9–11, Ages 12–18. Parents will participate in their own sessions and have access to the Healing Room offering massage, Reiki, and sound bowl healing. The “We Are One” Cultural Experience: African drumming • Salsa and Afro-Caribbean dance • Haitian cultural storytelling Rites of Passage: Participants will be paired with someone they do not know and exchange red lotus bracelets, symbolizing connection, growth, and transformation. In that moment, they are no longer strangers, but reflections of one another. Why This Matters: Our children are carrying more than backpacks. They are carrying emotions, stress, and experiences they don’t always have the tools to process. At Dreamcatchers, we create safe spaces where they can breathe, express, and begin to heal—from the inside out.
