My goal is to provide quality childcare in a loving, safe, caring and enriching family environment to help your child grow and thrive. Garabatos is the Spanish word for “doodles”. Traditionally, doodling has been seen as a distraction from the real work of learning. However, Sharlene Habermeyer, M.A. author of Good Music Brighter Children, says “doodling is an important way for kids, teens and adults to relax, stay focused, grasp new concepts, retain information, think creative thoughts, improve memory, and achieve better health.” Although we will not be spending the day doodling away, my goal at Garabatos Daycare is to provide children a foundation for learning another language in a fun and positive way, like “doodling” is. Just like a doodle can have so much potential to help each individual to succeed in the future, I believe that by simply being immersed in the language and consistently listening, talking, learning, exploring, playing and singing, your child will learn all while having lots of fun in Spanish! After many years of working with children here in the Bay Area and as a preschool teacher in my home country, El Salvador, I decided it was time for me to open the doors of my home to welcome you and your child with open arms. I am excited to partake on this journey and to provide a place where your child has “a home away from home”.As a mother myself, I know that finding the perfect care for your little ones can be very challenging.
