Collect some of our edible herbal plants and have a tea party! Join us for Nature Kids, a hands-on, family-friendly workshop series designed to spark curiosity and creativity in the great outdoors! Each session begins with an adventure in the garden, where children, along with their parents, will explore, collect nature treasures, and learn about the plants, animals, and seasonal wonders around them. Back at the learning tent, we’ll transform our discoveries into simple, nature-inspired crafts using leaves, flowers, seeds, stones, and more. Perfect for nature lovers of all ages, these workshops encourage kids to observe, imagine, and engage with the natural world in a fun and interactive way. Sessions are held throughout the summer and early fall, with unique activities each time—come for one or join us for the whole series. These activities are designed for ages 5 and up. Join us for a hands-on herbal adventure as we explore the gardens searching for edible plants and useful herbs growing all around us. Children will taste, touch, and smell a variety of fresh herbs while learning how people have used plants for food, tea, and wellness throughout history. We’ll talk about how to start your own herb garden at home – be it in the ground or a patio planter – so you can tickle your senses all year round. Tickets Adult and teen tickets are $5 for members (with member discount code) and $20 for non-members which includes an all day pass to the gardens. Children 12 and under get into the gardens free and pay a materials fee of $5 for the workshop. Recommended for age 5 and older. Cancellations: If you are unable to attend, please let us know 48 hours in advance of the class start time in order to receive a refund. Note that Eventbrite fees are non-refundable. Weather Related Cancellations: We will assess the weather the morning of the workshop and send a notification to all attendees if extreme or severe weather is forecast.
