SEATTLE'S COMMUNITY POTTERY & CERAMICS STUDIO • Welcome Clay & Community - A Pottery Studio Built For You • What Makes The Clay Corner Different • Choose Your Path • New to Pottery? You're in the Right Place. • Become a Member • Two Studios, One Community • Frequently Asked Questions When founder Sean Kelly opened The Clay Corner in 2017, he wanted to share the craft he'd fallen in love with and make it available to anyone in Seattle who was curious. What started as a small studio has grown into Seattle's largest community pottery studio, spanning 10,000 square feet across two buildings in Fremont and serving over 300 members. Our core belief remains the same: creativity should be accessible to everyone. That's why we proudly offer scholarships and pay-scale memberships to ensure our studio is open to all. Most studios hand you a seat and a schedule. We do it differently. Whether you want to throw on a wheel or build by hand, we have a path for you, and instructors who'll meet you exactly where you are. Learn to shape clay on a spinning wheel to create timeless forms like mugs, bowls, and vases. We offer guidance for all skill levels, from centering for the first time to throwing complex shapes. Discover the freedom of building with your hands and simple tools. Using slab, coil, and pinch techniques, you can create sculptural and functional pieces without ever touching a wheel. All levels are welcome. Absolutely no experience is needed to start your journey at our Seattle art studio. Our classes are designed to be flexible and tailored to you. Simply tell your instructor what you want to work on, and they will guide you. For those wanting to dip their toes in the water, our weekend intro classes are the perfect start and do not require a membership. Expect your first day to be simple: just show up, chat [Google Places type: educational institution]
