Clayroom offers pottery classes (wheel throwing and hand) and woodworking classes for all levels in San Francisco, Oakland San Mateo. Our studios are located in San Francisco (SF), Oakland and San Mateo. Learn to work with clay and make ceramics at our studio! We have 6-week beginner and intermediate classes, memberships, kids classes. Community Outreach • Waller Residency (WARP) • Monthly Artists Talks and Demos • Scholarship Programs A series of classes exploring different techniques, themes, and projects in either ceramics, woodworking, or both (cross-mediums) For those who don’t mind working independently and are committed to being a part of a community studio Let's create and explore the boundaries together. Get an introduction to the pottery wheel or dabble in woodworking and finish a beautiful project Specialty weekend or 1-day workshops at Clayroom's studios that present unique techniques to broadened ceramic knowledge and to inspire different forms 4 community pottery and woodworking studios in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Mateo centered around providing an inspiring shared space for us to be creative and explore using our tactile senses. The spaces are all unique, but all share the needs to serve as a beacon of connecting people together through art, shared experiences of learning and community outreach and events. We believe the studios should serve as a beacon of bringing people together and uplifting people The Waller Artist Residency Program (WARP) is offered to black emerging ceramic artists to work in the studio for 6 months and be mentored on a weekly cadence. The residency program will conclude with an artist gallery show Monthly artists talks and demos from bay area artists and visiting ceramic artists to learn about their practice, inspiration and an opportunity to asks questions and learn.
