Improve fitness. Learn self-defense at Silicon Valley's premier BJJ academy. Never trained before? No problem. Here's exactly what happens when you walk through our doors. Come 15 minutes before class starts. Wear comfortable athletic clothes (t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants). We'll provide a loaner gi if needed. We'll introduce you to the professor teaching class and give you a quick tour of the facility. Feel free to ask any questions! Class starts with a group warm-up to prepare your body. Don't worry if you can't do everything—just move at your own pace. The professor will demonstrate 2-3 techniques. You'll partner up with someone and practice together. Everyone starts as a beginner—no one will judge you. More advanced students may do light sparring. As a beginner, you can watch or try it at a very relaxed pace with an experienced partner. We finish with stretching and group discussion. This is a great time to ask questions about membership, schedule, or your next class. Every single person in our gym was a nervous beginner on their first day. Our instructors and students are here to help you succeed. You won't be thrown into anything you're not ready for.
